Media Practice Evaluation Lip Sync Video
What have you enjoyed?
I enjoyed filming and using the camera and experimenting with the different angles and shots.
Furthermore, my favourite part of the production was using Adobe Premiere Pro and experimenting with all the transitions, effects and videos.
What have you learnt?
I have learnt the basics of using Adobe Premiere Pro and how to use the razer Cut tool, Selection tool along with the other various tools and learning what their functions are.
What were the major challenges?
One of the major challenges of producing this video was finding suitable places for the cinematography and trying to make the actor feel comfortable lip syncing as they were feeling a bit nervous due to being self conscious of themselves and being afraid of what other people might think.
Another challenge was syncing the music audio with the actor's lips as trimming the audio at the right second felt tedious and for
What do you think the major challenges will be for your main project?
Finding the right actors who would suit the genre and like the genre for my music video. I also

Sia - Chandelier Analysis
In Sia's Music Video 'Chandelier', both types of lighting (Artificial and Natural) are used. To make the video give off a mysterious vibe, the lighting is dark and dim so it is hard for the audience to decode everything in the background of a shot which limits their vision and it means they are forced to rely on their imagination as well.
The Mise-En-Scene is very idiosyncratic and unconventional. The use of de coloured clothing the girl is wearing, the platinum short wig, the creepy paintings and drawings on the wall, and even the vintage looking dirty walls. The choreography is contemporary postmodern dance. It seems very unusual however every move has a meaning and it describes the feeling of the person. The person who is singing the song is not in the music video at all , it is a very simple music video of the dancer dancing around the whole house and using the use of space as much as she can. The movements are very surreal. There are many long and wide shots used to show the surroundings and the full movements of the dancer. There were also some close ups and mid shots to show the facial expressions of the dancer which were again very surreal. The whole music video is also very abstract and it clearly differs from many other music videos. During the chorus the dance movements were more lively and during the verses they were a lot more slower and less jumpy. There was match on action when the girl walked through the door and then we saw her from a shoulders view to show that she entered a different view which helped the audience to not get confused.
Adele - Hello Analysis
The Equilibrium is the two characters in this video are shown to the audience as a happy couple through the use of flashbacks. The disruption of the Equilibrium is whatever caused the couple to break up their relationship. The recognition of the disruption is when Adele drives out of the isolated house due to the sorrow she has from breaking up. The resolution of the damage is when Adele attempts to phone her ex-boyfriend so they can solve the problem between them. The new Equilibrium is not explicitly shown to the audience by being depicted in the video, the ending is left to interpretation of the viewer. However it could be assumed that the new equilibrium is the couple reuniting which is probably unlikely, or the couple moving on in separate directions unaffected by the attempt to repair the damage caused via the phone call.
In terms of Barthes' Enigma Code, the codes in the media text 'Hello' are: what caused the relationship to be broken and the two characters to separate, will those two characters unite, is the isolated house a physical metaphor for the emotions that are felt after the break-up and who is Adele speaking to on the phone at all times. In terms of Semantic Code, the codes in the media text 'Hello' are: The dead ladybirds on the window-seal at the beginning, the ticking clock before the music begins, the dust sheets being removed, the opening of the door to another room, the pathetic fallacy of the rain in certain flashbacks, the overgrown telephone box, the bars on the staircase which Adele sits behind, the pathetic fallacy of the strong wind, the pond/lake which Adele stands on one side of, the isolated house in the countryside.
There are a lot of close ups in the music video of Adele's face which is done to show her facial expressions and her facial expressions connoted pain, sadness and heart break. There are many two shots used to show the relationship between Adele and her ex-boyfriend. For editing, there are flashbacks to show to happy memories Adele had with the ex-boyfriend. The flashbacks were more washed out and more vintage looking and not as clear. There is also lots of depth of field and shallow focus used to move focus from one object to another. E.g. from Adele to the ex-boyfriend. The footage is in sepia, a black and white filter, to depict nostalgia like old photographs exemplifying how the memories of love feel so distant and untouchable as they are simply stuck in a 'photograph' which is a captured moment of the past.

Filming Induction
There is also the exposure control and we can play around with the shutter speed, aperture and ISO. If the shutter speed is low the lighting would be dark as the movement of the shutter would be slow. This is why the shutter should be on 50 as for filming that is an appropriate setting.
The aperture is what we should experiment with. When the aperture is bigger more light would come in which means depending on the theme or lighting of your music video we can change the aperture and increase or decrease the lighting.
ISO is about light sensitivity and we can change the setting between 100-1600.
The third area is to do with colour. Neutral is when there is no filter and we don't want that as we want it to be completely neutral and clean however it can be changed.
Auto White Balance should be on Auto mode because we don't want it to be white washed where there is no definition.
For the focus, the mode needs to be on MF because that is the best mode for filming, because you can change the focus.
Quick Menu is to get back to the menu and change any of the settings. Also the fact that these cameras are touch screen makes everything much less time consuming and easy to use and understand.
